El Morro’s Striking Night Time Glow

Night View of El Morro in Old San Juan

If you arrive in San Juan late afternoon, early evening (which can be the case for many cruise line passengers), you may feel that there will be a limited amount of things to see and do.

Night Time View of El Morro in Old San JuanIt is true that attractions such as El Morro close their doors at 6pm (5pm between June and November), but even if the doors are closed; a trip to El Morro should not be ignored.

As the photos in this post show, even at night El Morro cuts a dramatic imposing figure on the San Juan skyline.

Note: The free trolley service that runs to El Morro stops around 7pm. Other options include taxis or an uphill walk.

El Morro is not the only attraction that is illuminated at night, so don’t despair if this is the only time you will have to explore the city. Even at night, Old San Juan has a lot to offer.
