El Morro Artisan Fair 2010

el morro fair old san juanThis weekend, July 31 – Aug 1, the grounds in front of El Morro Fort, Old San Juan will host around 150+ artisans from all over Puerto Rico as they come together to showcase their works.

The El Morro Artisan Fair starts at 10am each day, and visitors to the fair can experience a wide variety of local handicrafts including sculptures, paintings, wood carvings and more. Being a fair here in Puerto Rico there will also be the chance to sample local Puerto Rican food as well as enjoying traditional Puerto Rican music.

Last year the artisan fair was set up in tents at the beginning of the walkway to El Morro and I expect it to be located in a similar area this year. If you plan on driving, you can park in the underground car park opposite El Morro, or use one of the car parks close to the cruise ship piers and then either walk up to El Morro or take the Free Old San Juan Trolley to El Morro.
