Weather Alert: Tropical Storm Gaston

Still VERY ACTIVE here in the Caribbean. Tropical Storm Gaston needs to be watched as it makes it way west towards Puerto Rico. As with all Tropical Storms it is best to keep an eye on the latest forecasts and you can stay up to date on TS Gaston at our weather page as well as at the NHC

Maricao Coffee Festival 2009

One of the many things you have to try here in Puerto Rico is the local coffee and over in Mariaco they celebrate the end of the coffee harvest with an annual festival. This years festival takes place on Feb 13-15, 2009.

As usual here in Puerto Rico the town will be filled with a party atmosphere with parades, arts and crafts, traditional Puerto Rican foods and local musicians.

Maricao is located on the west side of the island east of Mayaguez and north of San German, If you are going to be in the area, check it out.

Directions:
Maricao is 40 minutes east of Mayaguez on State Road 105 (PR 105). It can also be accessed on the State Road 120 (PR 120) north from the town of Sabana Grande.

Monte del Estado (forest reserve)
Prieto Lake
Salto de Curet (water fall)
Torre de la Piedra (tower)
