Weather Alert: Tropical Storm Gaston

Still VERY ACTIVE here in the Caribbean. Tropical Storm Gaston needs to be watched as it makes it way west towards Puerto Rico. As with all Tropical Storms it is best to keep an eye on the latest forecasts and you can stay up to date on TS Gaston at our weather page as well as at the NHC

Bacardi Artisan Fair 2008

December 14 sees this years Bacardi Artisan Fair take place at the Bacardi Corporation headquarters in Catano, just across the bay from Old San Juan. This is a major event for local artisans and this year the event will only be held on Sunday December 14 (previous years it has been held on the first two Sundays in December).

The fair will be packed with artists, craftspeople, as well as local food, music and drinks. With over 400 plus tables expected, there will be plenty for you to see and buy.

The fair will take place on the grounds of the Bacardi factory, so come prepared to walk and have fun. Admission is free, so you just need to turn up to enjoy the day.

Directions:
By Car from San Juan: take Highway 22 west to the Cantaño exit, Road 165. The plant is visible on the right about a mile from the exit on Road 165, Km 2.6, Int. 888, at the Bay View Industrial Park in Cantaño.

From Old San Juan: Take the ferry from Pier 2 to Catano (ferry is free until end of 2008). Take a taxi to the factory for around $3.00 per person each way.
