Take the Ferry to Vieques or Culebra
One of the options that you have when you visit Puerto Rico is to take a trip to the islands of Vieques and Culebra. Both islands offer a more relaxed feel with excellent beaches. The cheapest way to travel to Vieques or Culebra is to take the ferry from Fajardo (approx 90mins drive from San Juan)
The ferry to either island takes around 60-90mins depending on weather conditions.
Ferry Schedule:
Fajardo – Vieques
Monday – Friday: 4 Sailings
9:30am, 1pm, 4:30pm and 8pm
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 3 Sailings
9am, 3pm and 6pm
Vieques – Fajardo
Monday – Friday: 4 Sailings
6:30am, 11am, 3pm and 6pm
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 3 Sailings
6:30am, 1pm and 4:30pm
Cost: Adults $2, Children $1
Fajardo – Culebra
Daily: 3 Sailings
9am, 3pm and 7pm
Culebra – Fajardo
Daily: 3 Sailings
6:30am, 1pm, 7pm
Cost: Adults $2.25, Children $1

Oh yes! Culebra is a must visit.
I have tried calling the numbers for the ferry service MANY times, but I am never able to get through. Nonetheless, like Mark said, Culebra is AWESOME!!!

hello. im am looking for information regarding transportation from the san juan airport to the dock where the ferry leaves to vieques. im trying to find out hos to get to the vieques conservation and history trust
