PGA Heading to Puerto Rico
According to eurosport.com the PGA has added Puerto Rico to the 2008 tour. This will be the first time that the PGA has played an event here in Puerto Rico and it follows this years inclusion of Mexico to the 2007 tour.
The event will be known as the Puerto Rico Open and will be played at the Tom Kite-designed Coco Beach Golf & Country Club in Rio Grande from March 20-23. It will have a total purse of $3.5 million, with $630,000 for first place.
This event is a major landmark for golf and sport in general here in Puerto Rico and gives the golf fans of the island the opportunity to see the world’s best golfers ‘up close and personnel’.
