Johnny Rockets Diner Review

Johnny Rockets Diner in Puerto RicoThe other day I was in the Monteheidra Mall in the San Juan suburbs, and had lunch at Johnny Rockets. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Johnny Rockets, it is an international chain of retro diners that serves all-American favorites including hamburgers, hand-dipped shakes and malts, as well as deserts. The layout and decor harps back to a time when diners were the place to be seen at.

I have to say that my experience at the Monteheidra diner was very enjoyable. We were greeted with a trademark ‘Hello’ from the staff as we entered and took our seats, and the service was courteous and fast. The menu consists of typical diner food; choice of hamburgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and salads. Wings, fries and a very tasty chili bowl for starters; if you are feeling hungry. We did not try the shakes or malts, but they did look pretty good. I can recommend the Route 66 Burger and the Chili Bowl. Both were very good

As well as the food, we were treated to the staff dancing to one of the records that was playing through the jukeboxes that are located around the diner (5 cents and the music is yours). Apparently, the staff entertain the customers every half hour with a dance and a song.
One thing that was missing from our visit to Johnny Rockets was the ‘Goodbye’ from the staff, or if they did say ‘Good bye’, I missed it.

So if you are in need of a burger and shake, and you are near one of the three locations here in Puerto Rico, or anywhere else where they have a location; check it out. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Locations in Puerto Rico:

Plaza Del Sol, Bayamon

Plaza Cayey Centro, Cayey (coming soon apparently)

Monteheidra Mall, San Juan

Looking for another restaurant try here…
