El Yunque Puerto Rico
You have to visit El Yunque in Puerto Rico whether you are here for a couple of days or longer; you will not be disappointed. For those of you that do not know about El Yunque, it is the tropical rainforest located 45 minutes east of San Juan along highway 3.
Get there early so that you will have plenty of time to enjoy the trails and see the views from the several watch towers in the forest. There are various trails that are all well marked, that will take you into the rainforest and allow you to truly experience this wonder of nature.
If you get there early you can recharge from all the walking by taking a detour on your way back to San Juan at Luquillo beach. Here you can hit the surf or just relax on the beach or at one of the many kiosks serving traditional Puerto Rican food.
