Da House Hotel in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
This is not a review, but I thought it was worth a post. This newly opened hotel was featured recently in the Frugal Traveler series of the New York Times, as a budget hotel for those that want to be in the heart of Old San Juan. The hotel was used by the Frugal Traveler reporter during their weekend stay in Puerto Rico. As the Da House Hotel website states ‘Come and Experience Bohemian Old San Juan’
Da House Hotel is located in the upper floors of the well known Nuyorican Café in Old San Juan. The building that houses the Da House and the Nuyorican was a former Spanish convent which has been transformed into a lively café and art filled hotel. There are 20 rooms with prices ranging from $80 - $120 depending on the room. Even at $120 this seems like a bargain to me. Because the hotel is located above the Nuyorican, it may not be that quiet, but if you are looking for action and want to be in Old San JUan, then the Da House Hotel is worth researching.
