‘Not the norm’…..

I have just been researching things to do here in Puerto Rico that are ‘not the norm’.  That is to say, not the usual Old San Juan tour, trip to the beach or El Yunque Rainforest.  I came across this (you may already be aware of it), but it sounds pretty cool to me.

Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve (Tel:787-722-5882).  I have to say upfront that I have not been here, but it is one my to-do list. It’s a 300+ acre nature reserve about 45 miles east of San Juan that includes 7 different eco systems and you can book a tour between Weds-Sunday (you need to book to get a tour).  The tours apparantly use electric trolleys to get around the reserve, so it should be easy on the feet.  The English version of the tour starts at 2pm (and lasts for about 2.5 hrs) and the cost is about $5 for an adult, less for children. I’ll let you know more once I have been.
